Fixed Foam Extinguishing System

Fixed foam extinguishing systems are permanently installed fire-extinguishing systems that add a specified amount of foam concentrate to the flow of water in equipment such as sprinkler or water spray extinguishing systems. The principle of a Fixed Foam System is to produce Low, Medium or High Expansion Foam to smother or blanket an area of combustion or potential risk.

Upon activation of the fire detection system the Installation control valve set opens. Foam concentrate, stored in a bladder tank, and water are mixed together using a proportioning device located above the Installation control valve set. The Foam-Water mixture then enters the installation pipe work and is discharged through the spray nozzles over the protected area.

Fixed Foam Systems are used in a wide range of Industrial & Marine fire protection applications from Fuel Storage Facilities, Bunded Areas, Mining Sites, Petrochemical Plants, Large Industrial Sites and Warehousing to Offshore Platforms, Drilling Rigs, Marine Shipping, Heli-Decks and Airport Facilities.
